Why Physics goes wrong
A student who has been rewarded for memorising through Std 10 arrives in Std 11 and finds that memorising a formula does not help when the question changes one variable. Physics punishes that habit harder than any other subject, which is why it is usually the first to slip.
Derivations are not optional
Skipping a derivation to save time is a false economy. The derivation is where the assumptions live, and the assumptions are what the tricky question tests. They are done in full here.
Numericals in class
Setting numericals as homework and checking them next week teaches very little. Working through them in class, with the wrong approaches visible on the board, teaches a great deal more.
